This week in Spanish Class: 9/27/10 to 10/1/10





6th grade:





Monday: We will begin learning about weather and seasons in Spanish.





Tuesday: More practice with weather and seasons. We will visit the Spanish weather channel. The students will each be given a different city. With a partner the students will create a weekly forecast for their assigned city. The students will present their presentations in class on Wednesday.





Wednesday: Forecast presentations.





Thursday: Computer lab. Students will be taking an online practice pop quiz. Once students have successfully passed the practice pop quiz, they will complete some weather practice activities.





Friday: Quiz-weather and seasons

Any documents students will need to complete assignments will be posted under the 6TH GRADE STUDENT DOCUMENTS section of the blog.





8th Grade:





Monday: Students will present sports projects in class. After students finish presentations, we will begin learning e to ie stem changing verbs.





Tuesday: Practice with Stem changing verbs. Introduction of the verb saber.





Wednesday: More practice with stem changing verbs and saber. Verb competition.





Thursday: Computer lab. Students will do an online practice pop quiz, and then practice playing some stem changing verb and sports vocabulary games.





Friday: Vocabulary Quiz on sports and sports related words.

This week in Spanish class 9/20/10 to 9/24/10


6th Grade:

Monday: We will be continuing to play the clue game to review months and numbers in class.

Tuesday: Review Spanish months and numbers 0-31.

Wednesday: Practice Pop test! Students will be taking a practice test in class. The test is setup in the same format as Friday's test will be. Students will use this as a guide to help them see what they are still having difficulty with. We will review the answers in class.

Thursday: BIG REVIEW! We will be reviewing everything that will be covered on the test. (greetings, greeting an adult vs. child, days, colors, numbers 0-31, saying how you are doing, asking/saying your birthday, asking/saying your age, and months)Students will be getting a study guide in class.

Friday: Test Unit One.

****ALL VOCABULARY WORDS FOR 6TH GRADE ARE NOW AVAILABLE UNDER THE 6TH GRADE STUDENT DOCUMENTS SECTION OF THE BLOG.

8th grade

Monday: Students will be watching a video on a famous Hispanic Baseball player. After the video, students will complete a crossword puzzle of new vocabulary words.

Tuesday: Sports and the verb jugar. Students will be learning the sports vocabulary words and how to conjugate the verb jugar.

Wednesday: Famous Spanish Athlete activity in the media center.

Thursday: Finish Activity from yesterday. Begin Jugar study guide activity.

Friday: None. You will not see me for Spanish today because of Testing.

Hola clase. I hope you had an awesome weekend! I am looking forward to meeting each of your parents at open house this week.



This week in Spanish class 9/13 to 9/17:



6th Grade Spanish


Monday: We will be in the computer lab reviewing for the quiz on Tuesday. Students will taking an on line practice quiz. The quiz will help me to see how well students understand the material. After students are finished their online practice quizzes they will play some review games on the Quia website.



Tuesday: Quiz on colors and days of the week. Begin learning months and numbers



Wednesday: Review months and numbers 0-31. Make sure you are practicing the spelling of the months and numbers in Spanish.



Thursday: More practice with months and numbers 0-31. Students will play a group game to help them practice the months and numbers.



Friday: We will finish up the group game on months and numbers.





8th grade Spanish



Monday: Review for vocabulary and grammar quiz in the computer lab. Students will practice some online quizzes and review using the Wordle website.



Tuesday: Quiz-Vocabulary and Grammar



Wednesday: Test Review game



Thursday: Writing activity on Puerto Rico.



Friday: TEST UNIDAD 3 ETAPA 1-Talking on the phone, expressing likes and dislikes, saying where you are coming from, saying what you have just done, and activities vocabulary words. The review for this chapter can be found in the back of the purple book, OR you can use your textbook. The vocabulary is located on page 195.

Welcome back from a nice long weekend.
This week in Spanish class: 9/6/10 to 9/10/10


6th Grade:
Monday: No school

Tuesday: Review Spanish speaking countries and color vocabulary words. Please make sure you have all of the vocabulary written down in your composition book. If not be sure to copy them down first thing tomorrow.

Wednesday: Review of colors and countries. Students will be using the language lab for the first time to practice speaking in Spanish.

Thursday: Introduction to days of the week and other vocabulary words. Make sure you write down the vocabulary in your composition book.

Friday: Review days of the week, countries, and colors. Students will play the game ''Where in the world." The students will use the language lab again for this activity. HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEK IS DUE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!


8th Grade:

Monday: No school

Tuesday: Continue with the review of chapter 3.1. As a class students will compete against each other to see which team can complete the crossword puzzle the fastest. This activity is designed to reinforce vocabulary from the chapter.

Wednesday-Finish with crossword game as a class. Students will practice their speaking using the language lab equipment. Students will be given different scenarios where they will have to"talk on the phone" with a partner. Students will begin to work on mini-projects with partners.
Thursday- Students will finish working on mini projects and present them to the class.

Friday: Review the vocabulary from the chapter. Students will also create scenarios to give to another student. The scenarios will help the students to practice their writing for the test at the end of next week.
