This week in Spanish Class: 1/31 to 2/4


6th Grade:

Monday: Talent agent mini class project. Students will be describing different famous people in Spanish using adjectives, the verbs ser and estar. We will also finish our analysis of the Picasso painting we began on Friday.


Tuesday: Students will finish up the mini projects in their groups and present them to the class. We will also do some ser and estar practice.


Wednesday: Ser and Estar cookie day! The students will be doing more practice with the verbs ser and estar. We will read the cookie story in class.


Thursday: Test review scavenger hunt. The students will use words around the classroom to help them complete their scavenger hunt. Don't forget homework is due today and test is tomorrow!


Friday: Test!



8th grade:

Monday: Vocabulary review En vivo and En contexto. The students will also complete a partner speaking activity.


Tuesday: Shopper mania! The students will be reviewing vocabulary by playing a shopper game in class.


Wednesday: Taboo vocabulary review. The class will be divided into two teams. They will play the game Taboo to help them practice the meaning of the vocabulary words.


Thursday: Vocabulary group activity.


Friday: Mini magazine class activity. The students will be broken up into groups and will be responsible for creating a mini magazine with advertisement pages. The students will present their magazines to the class.

This week in Spanish class: 1/24/11 to 1/28/11

6th Grade:


Monday: Review ser and estar dance as a class. We will also review the rules for ser and estar and when to use each verb. The students will be completing ser and estar worksheets in class.


Tuesday: Review ser and estar dance. The students will be doing a head set activity with partners. They will be practicing using the verbs ser and estar to describe a made up character.


Wednesday: We will begin with out family member review. The students will receive a packet that will help them review family members for Friday's quiz. We will review the packet and any other questions the students have.


Thursday: More family member review. The students will play BINGO with the family member vocabulary words. Please make sure you have candy to use as game pieces.


Friday: Quiz- Family members. After students finish the quiz we will begin reviewing for the chapter test the following Friday.



8th grade:


Monday: Test commands, D.O.P., and directions.


Tuesday: Begin introduction packet for u4.e2. This will help students gain an understanding for the grammar sections before we go over the chapter.


Wednesday: I will not see the 8th graders due to the 8th grade writing test.


Thursday: Finish up introduction packet.


Friday: Review the packet and grammar sections as a class.

Welcome back from a LONG snow day break! This week in Spanish Class: 1/17/11 to 1/21/11


6th Grade:

Monday: No school


Tuesday: We will begin our peer teaching of everything we have learned so far this year. This activity is designed to make sure all students understand everything we learned before we move on to something new.


Wednesday: We will continue learning the verbs ser, estar, and tener. The students will be doing several activities to practice the uses of the verbs. Our main focus will be on remembering how each verb is used in sentences.


Thursday: Ser/Estar/Tener verbs. We will be practicing and reviewing the conjugations.


Friday: More practice with ser/estar/tener and verbs




8th grade:

Monday No school


Tuesday: Directions game. We will be playing a game where the students have to give directions to a classmate in Spanish while the classmate is blindfolded.


Wednesday: Students will be continuing to work on their Map Test due on Thursday.


Thursday: Finish Map test due today.


Friday: Commands and Directions game.

This week in Spanish class: 1/3/10 to 1/7/10


6th Grade:


Monday: No School


Tuesday: Teacher Workday. Students no school.


Wednesday-Friday: Semester 1 Post Assessment. The students will be completing a post assessment, which will allow me to gauge how much information the students have retained throughout the year. I will then spend time re-teaching material the students are still struggling with before moving on to the next chapter.



8th Grade:


Monday: No School


Tuesday: Teacher workday. Students no school.


Wednesday: Welcome back from break day.


Thursday: Commands and Map activity. We will be practicing commands in Spanish. This is a grammar section in 4.1.


Friday: Commands.
