Monday and Tuesday: Computer Lab Days. Students will be working on their projects in the Media center.


Wednesday-Friday: Project Days. Students will be working on their projects in class.

8th grade:

This week in Spanish class: 12/6 to 12/10


6th grade:


Monday: Computer Lab-introduction to Spanish family members, the verb ser, and the verb estar activity.


Tuesday: We will review all of the Spanish family members and begin to learn about the verbs ser and estar. The students will take notes on the verbs and gain an understanding for how they are related to family vocabulary. The students will receive their project details.


Wednesday: More practice with family, ser, and estar. We will play a quia game to help practice using ser and estar.


Thursday: Students will begin learning adjectives in Spanish.


Friday: More adjective practice. We will also review everything the students learned this week.



8th grade:

Monday: Computer Lab-students will be practicing Spanish commands and vocabulary. The students will focus on vocabulary to prepare for the quiz on Tuesday.


Tuesday: Vocabulary quiz. Students will also be receiving the details about their projects and mid-terms.


Wednesday: Review the present progressive tense and Direct object pronouns.


Thursday: Computer lab. We will be working on projects.


Friday: Computer lab. We will be working on projects.

6th Grade-

Monday: Finish Toy Story III activity

Tuesday: Practice pop test to help students prepare for Friday's test.

Wednesday: Review practice pop test. We will begin reviewing for Friday's test. Students will receive a study guide to help them prepare for the test. The study guide will also be posted under the student documents section of the blog.

Thursday: More test review.

Friday: Test Unit 2 on: time, AR verbs, Pronouns, classroom objects, and school Subjects.



8th Grade:

6th Grade:

Monday: We will be in the computer lab playing games to help the students practice time in Spanish.


Tuesday: We will be playing jeopardy to help review for the time quiz on Friday.


Wednesday: We will be playing the time match up game in class. This is a competitive game that will help the students review.


Thursday: Field Trip to the museum.


Friday: Time quiz. Students will also be learning what they need to have for their first binder check.



8th grade:


Monday: Group presentations.

Wednesday: Begin new chapter. Students will be completing an introduction to the chapter packet.

Wednesday-Finished the review packet and prepared for tomorrow.


Thursday- Students will be doing a head set activity in groups. The students will be practicing writing and answering questions in Spanish using AR verbs.


Friday: The students will be presenting their information to the class based on their multiple intelligence strengths.

This week in Spanish Class: 10/11/10 to 10/15/10


6th Grade:

Monday: No school-Teacher workday


Tuesday: Practice for Thursday's speaking test. Students will be given a scenario in class and will have to talk about it in Spanish. We will review strategies to successfully pass a speaking test.


Wednesday: We will be reviewing for the speaking test tomorrow. Students will be given another scenario and will have to practice speaking with a partner. We will work on asking and answering questions in Spanish.


Thursday: Speaking Test. Introduction to conjugating AR verbs.


Friday: Practice using AR verbs. Students will learn the AR verb ending dance.


8th Grade:


Monday: No school


Tuesday: Finish video


Wednesday: Practice for speaking test tomorrow.

Friday: Vocabulary activity for the next chapter. We will begin Unidad 3 Etapa 3.

This week in Spanish Class: 10/4/10 to 10/8/10


6th Grade:


Monday: We will begin learning about classroom objects and school subjects in Spanish.


Tuesday: We will be in the computer lab. Students will practice writing a Spanglish story with a partner. After the students are finished they will play a game using the Tagxedo website.


Wednesday: We will be doing more vocabulary review in class.


Thursday: Group Activity. More review of classroom objects and subjects.


Friday: Taboo vocabulary review game.



8th grade:

Monday: Practice PBA. Review of Friday's pop quiz.


Tuesday: Computer Lab. We will be creating Spanglish Stories with partners of the vocabulary words. Each group will also create a notes page of the grammar sections for the chapter. The notes will be printed out and distributed to each students to use as a study tool.


Wednesday: Review or Speaking test.


Thursday: Speaking Test.


Friday: Independent work day. We will be beginning the next chapter in the unit.

This week in Spanish Class: 9/27/10 to 10/1/10





6th grade:





Monday: We will begin learning about weather and seasons in Spanish.





Tuesday: More practice with weather and seasons. We will visit the Spanish weather channel. The students will each be given a different city. With a partner the students will create a weekly forecast for their assigned city. The students will present their presentations in class on Wednesday.





Wednesday: Forecast presentations.





Thursday: Computer lab. Students will be taking an online practice pop quiz. Once students have successfully passed the practice pop quiz, they will complete some weather practice activities.





Friday: Quiz-weather and seasons

Any documents students will need to complete assignments will be posted under the 6TH GRADE STUDENT DOCUMENTS section of the blog.





8th Grade:





Monday: Students will present sports projects in class. After students finish presentations, we will begin learning e to ie stem changing verbs.





Tuesday: Practice with Stem changing verbs. Introduction of the verb saber.





Wednesday: More practice with stem changing verbs and saber. Verb competition.





Thursday: Computer lab. Students will do an online practice pop quiz, and then practice playing some stem changing verb and sports vocabulary games.





Friday: Vocabulary Quiz on sports and sports related words.

This week in Spanish class 9/20/10 to 9/24/10


6th Grade:

Monday: We will be continuing to play the clue game to review months and numbers in class.

Tuesday: Review Spanish months and numbers 0-31.

Wednesday: Practice Pop test! Students will be taking a practice test in class. The test is setup in the same format as Friday's test will be. Students will use this as a guide to help them see what they are still having difficulty with. We will review the answers in class.

Thursday: BIG REVIEW! We will be reviewing everything that will be covered on the test. (greetings, greeting an adult vs. child, days, colors, numbers 0-31, saying how you are doing, asking/saying your birthday, asking/saying your age, and months)Students will be getting a study guide in class.

Friday: Test Unit One.

8th grade

Monday: Students will be watching a video on a famous Hispanic Baseball player. After the video, students will complete a crossword puzzle of new vocabulary words.

Tuesday: Sports and the verb jugar. Students will be learning the sports vocabulary words and how to conjugate the verb jugar.

Wednesday: Famous Spanish Athlete activity in the media center.

Thursday: Finish Activity from yesterday. Begin Jugar study guide activity.

Friday: None. You will not see me for Spanish today because of Testing.

6th Grade Spanish


Monday: We will be in the computer lab reviewing for the quiz on Tuesday. Students will taking an on line practice quiz. The quiz will help me to see how well students understand the material. After students are finished their online practice quizzes they will play some review games on the Quia website.



Tuesday: Quiz on colors and days of the week. Begin learning months and numbers



Wednesday: Review months and numbers 0-31. Make sure you are practicing the spelling of the months and numbers in Spanish.



Thursday: More practice with months and numbers 0-31. Students will play a group game to help them practice the months and numbers.



Friday: We will finish up the group game on months and numbers.





8th grade Spanish



Monday: Review for vocabulary and grammar quiz in the computer lab. Students will practice some online quizzes and review using the Wordle website.



Tuesday: Quiz-Vocabulary and Grammar



Wednesday: Test Review game



Thursday: Writing activity on Puerto Rico.



Friday: TEST UNIDAD 3 ETAPA 1-Talking on the phone, expressing likes and dislikes, saying where you are coming from, saying what you have just done, and activities vocabulary words. The review for this chapter can be found in the back of the purple book, OR you can use your textbook. The vocabulary is located on page 195.

This week in Spanish class: 9/6/10 to 9/10/10


6th Grade:
Monday: No school

Tuesday: Review Spanish speaking countries and color vocabulary words. Please make sure you have all of the vocabulary written down in your composition book. If not be sure to copy them down first thing tomorrow.

Wednesday: Review of colors and countries. Students will be using the language lab for the first time to practice speaking in Spanish.

Thursday: Introduction to days of the week and other vocabulary words. Make sure you write down the vocabulary in your composition book.

Friday: Review days of the week, countries, and colors. Students will play the game ''Where in the world." The students will use the language lab again for this activity. HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEK IS DUE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!


8th Grade:

Monday: No school

Tuesday: Continue with the review of chapter 3.1. As a class students will compete against each other to see which team can complete the crossword puzzle the fastest. This activity is designed to reinforce vocabulary from the chapter.

Wednesday-Finish with crossword game as a class. Students will practice their speaking using the language lab equipment. Students will be given different scenarios where they will have to"talk on the phone" with a partner. Students will begin to work on mini-projects with partners.
Thursday- Students will finish working on mini projects and present them to the class.

Friday: Review the vocabulary from the chapter. Students will also create scenarios to give to another student. The scenarios will help the students to practice their writing for the test at the end of next week.

Thursday: Begin review of 3.1 We will review talking on the phone vocabulary.

Friday: More review of 3.1 We will continue with talking on the phone vocabulary words.



6th Grade-

Monday: Review of greetings. Review the difference between greeting an adult and friends, family, or other kids. Practice conversations in Spanish.

Tuesday: Pictionary review game. We will be reviewing for Thursday's quiz.

Wednesday: Quiz review. Students will receive a chance to take a "practice quiz" so they will know what they are still having trouble with. We will review the answers to the "practice quiz" in class. (Don't worry it's not for a grade) You will also complete a flip book study guide. This will help you study at home.

Thursday: Quiz on greetings. The vocabulary words are listed below. After students are finished the quiz, they will complete a colors and countries worksheet.

Friday: Introduction to colors and countries. We will review the worksheet given in class the previous day. Students will begin to learn colors in Spanish, as well as Spanish speaking countries.
