Monday: Review of the verb gustar.



Tuesday: Review of the verb gustar. Introduction to ER and IR verbs.



Wednesday: ER and IR verb conjugation practice.



Thursday: Review of er and ir verb conjugations and the verb gustar.



Friday: Chapter review of food vocabulary, er and ir verbs, and gustar.









8th grade:



Monday: Receive information about Spanish final.



Tuesday-Friday: In class Spanish final preparation and review.

This week 4/18 to 4/22


6th Grade:

Monday-Begin reviewing food vocabulary. Students will complete a vocabulary dictionary activity in class. Students will also fill out a food pyramid in Spanish.

Tuesday- More food vocabulary and food review. Students will continue to practice the food vocabulary items in class.

Wednesday: Vocabulary practice.

Thursday: Slap game with vocabulary words.

Friday: Vocabulary quiz.


8th grade:

Monday-Review commands and pronouns. Practice grammar quiz. we will prepare for tomorrow's grammar quiz.

This week in Spanish class: 4/11 to 4/15


6th grade:

Monday: Brainstorming practice for the PBA on Thursday.

Tuesday: Writing PBA practice in class.

Wednesday: Speaking practice for PBA tomorrow. Students will get a practice scenario and grade themselves. They will also make notes on what they need to improve on.

Thursday: Writing and Speaking PBA in class.

Friday: Computer lab activity.


8th grade:

Monday: Begin reviewing reflexive verbs in Spanish.

Tuesday: Reflexive verb practice as a class. We will review the notes from yesterday and use the steps in the notes to help practice using reflexive verbs properly in Spanish. Pop quiz on reflexives to see how well the students understand them.

Wednesday: More reflexive verb practice.

Thursday: Review of reflexives to describe daily activities.

Friday: Computer Lab activity.

6th grade:
Monday: Notes on describing what someone is wearing. Practice writing what someone is wearing. Tuesday: Review of the conjugations of the verb llevar and of clothing vocabulary words. Wednesday: Quiz on clothing and llevar. Review answers to quiz. Begin reviewing the verb tener. Thursday: Notes on the verb tener and tener practice. Friday: More practice with tener, clothing, and llevar. 8th grade: Monday: Notes on vocabulary. Tuesday: Review of vocabulary words. Wednesday: Notes on Reflexive verbs. Thursday and Friday: Georgia Trip.

This week in Spanish class: 3/21/11 to 3/25/11

6th Grade:

Monday: Students will begin learning the clothing vocabulary and the verb llevar.

Tuesday: Review of clothing vocabulary and the verb llevar. We will also be practicing for the speaking and writing performance based assessment.

Wednesday: Continue to practice using clothes and llevar students will be playing bingo. Don't forget to bring your candy for the game.

Thursday: Slap game with the vocabulary words.

Friday: Computer lab speaking and writing activity.


8th grade:

Monday: Review the vocabulary from the chapter. Students will complete the crossword puzzle.

Tuesday: Vocabulary pictionary

Wednesday: Slap game. Don't forget your vocabulary flash cards.

Thursday: BINGO with vocabulary words and begin reviewing reflexive verbs.

Friday: Computer lab activity.

Tuesday: Project Presentations. Movie night! We will begin watching Don Quixote in class.

Thursday: Review for test tomorrow. Study e to i verbs and affirmative and negative words.

6th Grade:

Monday: Students will be learning body parts in Spanish.

Tuesday: We will review body parts in class. We will also be playing pictionary to help students memorize the body part vocabulary.

Wednesday: Body Part game.

Thursday: Tener with body parts. Students will be reviewing the verb tener and how it is conjugated in Spanish.

Friday: Computer lab. We will be going to the quia game site to play games and review body part vocabulary.


8th grade:

Monday: Affirmative and Negative word review.

Tuesday: Affirmative and Negative word review.

Wednesday: Grammar quiz on gustar, affirmative and negative words, and e to i verb conjugations.

Tuesday: Students will present their projects to the class as a group at the "Purple Art Gala."

8th Grade:

Monday: Flash card vocabulary review game.


Tuesday: Vocabulary Quiz.


Wednesday: Review gustar and the verbs servir, pedir, and traer.

6th grade:

Monday: No school

Tuesday: Finish Story. We will begin reading about the artist Pablo Picasso and discussing his artwork in Spanish.

Wednesday: Begin working on Picasso group projects in class.

Thursday and Friday: Work on Picasso projects in class. Projects are due Tuesday.


8th Grade:

Monday: No school.

Tuesday: Finish vocabulary cross word puzzle. Write out vocabulary word practice sheet. We will be playing pictionary in class to begin learning the vocabulary words.

Wednesday: Chapter pretest. Partner interview activity.

Thursday: Vocabulary activity in language lab. Mata moscos vocabulary game.

Friday: Vocabulary review.

This week in Spanish Class: 2/7/11 to 2/11/11


6th Grade:

Monday: Students will be having their binder checks and the listening section of Friday's Test. The students will also be watching a video about Mexico.


Tuesday: Students will be finishing up binder checks and video about Mexico.


Wednesday: We will begin learning the numbers 32-1,000 in class.


Thursday: We will continue learning the numbers 32-1,000 in class.


Friday: Number practice. Quiz has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 15th.



8th grade:

Monday: Vocabulary quiz Unidad 4 etapa2.


Tuesday: Review of indirect object pronouns. Students will also be receiving the directions for their projects.


Wednesday: Students will review I.O.P.'s again. Last portion of class will be given to work on projects.


Thursday: I.O.P./ project day. Take the time to review your I.O.P.'s hint hint.


Friday: Video.

This week in Spanish Class: 1/31 to 2/4


6th Grade:

Monday: Talent agent mini class project. Students will be describing different famous people in Spanish using adjectives, the verbs ser and estar. We will also finish our analysis of the Picasso painting we began on Friday.


Tuesday: Students will finish up the mini projects in their groups and present them to the class. We will also do some ser and estar practice.


Wednesday: Ser and Estar cookie day! The students will be doing more practice with the verbs ser and estar. We will read the cookie story in class.


Thursday: Test review scavenger hunt. The students will use words around the classroom to help them complete their scavenger hunt. Don't forget homework is due today and test is tomorrow!


Friday: Test!



8th grade:

Monday: Vocabulary review En vivo and En contexto. The students will also complete a partner speaking activity.


Tuesday: Shopper mania! The students will be reviewing vocabulary by playing a shopper game in class.


Wednesday: Taboo vocabulary review. The class will be divided into two teams. They will play the game Taboo to help them practice the meaning of the vocabulary words.


Thursday: Vocabulary group activity.


Friday: Mini magazine class activity. The students will be broken up into groups and will be responsible for creating a mini magazine with advertisement pages. The students will present their magazines to the class.

This week in Spanish class: 1/24/11 to 1/28/11

6th Grade:


Monday: Review ser and estar dance as a class. We will also review the rules for ser and estar and when to use each verb. The students will be completing ser and estar worksheets in class.


Tuesday: Review ser and estar dance. The students will be doing a head set activity with partners. They will be practicing using the verbs ser and estar to describe a made up character.


Wednesday: We will begin with out family member review. The students will receive a packet that will help them review family members for Friday's quiz. We will review the packet and any other questions the students have.


Thursday: More family member review. The students will play BINGO with the family member vocabulary words. Please make sure you have candy to use as game pieces.


Friday: Quiz- Family members. After students finish the quiz we will begin reviewing for the chapter test the following Friday.



8th grade:


Monday: Test commands, D.O.P., and directions.


Tuesday: Begin introduction packet for u4.e2. This will help students gain an understanding for the grammar sections before we go over the chapter.


Wednesday: I will not see the 8th graders due to the 8th grade writing test.


Thursday: Finish up introduction packet.


Friday: Review the packet and grammar sections as a class.

Welcome back from a LONG snow day break! This week in Spanish Class: 1/17/11 to 1/21/11


6th Grade:

Monday: No school


Tuesday: We will begin our peer teaching of everything we have learned so far this year. This activity is designed to make sure all students understand everything we learned before we move on to something new.


Wednesday: We will continue learning the verbs ser, estar, and tener. The students will be doing several activities to practice the uses of the verbs. Our main focus will be on remembering how each verb is used in sentences.


Thursday: Ser/Estar/Tener verbs. We will be practicing and reviewing the conjugations.


Friday: More practice with ser/estar/tener and verbs




8th grade:

Monday No school


Tuesday: Directions game. We will be playing a game where the students have to give directions to a classmate in Spanish while the classmate is blindfolded.


Wednesday: Students will be continuing to work on their Map Test due on Thursday.


Thursday: Finish Map test due today.


Friday: Commands and Directions game.

This week in Spanish class: 1/3/10 to 1/7/10


6th Grade:


Monday: No School


Tuesday: Teacher Workday. Students no school.


Wednesday-Friday: Semester 1 Post Assessment. The students will be completing a post assessment, which will allow me to gauge how much information the students have retained throughout the year. I will then spend time re-teaching material the students are still struggling with before moving on to the next chapter.



8th Grade:


Monday: No School


Tuesday: Teacher workday. Students no school.


Wednesday: Welcome back from break day.


Thursday: Commands and Map activity. We will be practicing commands in Spanish. This is a grammar section in 4.1.


Friday: Commands.
